We're Here, San Diego
We officially launched Myriad McQuade in August 2026 — and we're already knee-deep in projects.
A few things on the bench right now:
A vendor cart build for Le Beignet, a local favorite we're thrilled to be building for.
Corporate gifts for a customer event in September, with a follow-on marketing moment in October.
Bachelorette party customs for a run of November parties.
Birthday party decor.
Cupcake toppers and menu signs for a local vendor catering events through September and October.
We're excited to show off the Le Beignet cart in full this September — more on that soon.
Ace Hardware Gaslamp already knows us by name
We've apparently become "a regular" at the Gaslamp Ace Hardware already, which feels like a good sign this early in.
A shoutout to our Home Depot heroes
Ché and Luke at the new Mission Valley Home Depot were the real heroes on this one — they walked us and our partners at Le Beignet through picking up supplies and materials for the vendor cart build, patiently and generously. Clyde and Matthew helped us out along the way too. Genuinely helpful, not just pointing-in-a-direction helpful.
One pro tip from that trip: Home Depot has a free wood/scraps section that's great for testing new materials on a laser cutter before committing to a full sheet. If you try this — mind your material (some finishes and composites aren't safe to cut or engrave), work with proper ventilation, and take the same safety precautions you would with any new material.
Working outside, when we can
We like to work outdoors when the project allows — it just feels right for this kind of work. San Diego's been muggy lately, and it's pulling up memories of humid Appalachian summers spent on home repair work — minus the misty mornings, and minus the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches we ate for lunch every single day on the work sites. Still magical work, even in the thick air. Thinking about singing Brown Eyed Girl on the guitar before dinner tonight.
On the playlist this afternoon
We are working on the vendor cart this afternoon, so the music should match the project and working space. We need strong musicians, especially women, since this is a women owned and managed business and we support and are inspired by women. That means we’re listening to bluegrass music, which fits our powerful songwriters inspo and matches the Appalachian weather vibes.
In particular, we are blasting Dolly Parton (RIP) and Patty Loveless' "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive".
